John Brady has posted another great monthly entry on the Rokenbok blog. Among the topics, he makes a comment that implies that Rokenbok is updating its 10-year-old control system to include wireless controllers, more players, and more vehicles running at the same time.

Wireless controllers would be huge! The long control wires get tangled up easy and get in the way of play. We’d love to see that change.

Maybe while they’re at it, Rokenbok could adopt a standard protocol like Bluetooth. Imagine being able to control vehicles from a laptop so that they could run through pre-programmed sequences. Or maybe you could record a run and then play back the control sequences to reproduce what you did. Add some sensors, and this could allow the vehicles to make the leap from “remote-control vehicles” to “robots”!
